iOS & Android

Missouri mobile app development for iOS and Android.

One codebase, both app stores. We build cross-platform mobile apps for Missouri businesses at the Lake of the Ozarks, in Jefferson City, Columbia, Springfield, and the Kansas City and St. Louis metros. Native feel, App Store and Google Play submission handled, and a web dashboard so your team can manage content without calling a developer. Since 2006. Call (573) 746-2417.

When a Missouri business actually needs a mobile app

Most Missouri businesses do not need a native mobile app. A fast, mobile-friendly website covers ninety percent of what a customer wants to do on a phone: check hours, look at menus, book, call, buy. If your goal is "we should have an app because everyone has an app", the answer is almost always a better mobile website first.

A native app makes sense when the phone's hardware or the always-installed presence actually matters. Push notifications that reach a subscriber without an email. Camera access for photo capture in the field. Location and offline access for crews at a job site or a boat on Lake of the Ozarks water where cell service drops. Home-screen presence for a product a customer opens daily. Login-based experiences where the app is the product.

We will tell you honestly which side of that line you fall on. If a progressive web app or a solid mobile-first website solves the problem for a quarter the cost, we will point you there. If native is the answer, we build it.

iOS, Android, both, from one codebase

We build in React Native by default. One codebase compiles to both an iOS app on the App Store and an Android app on Google Play. Native feel on both platforms, roughly half the build cost of writing two separate apps, and a single team maintaining one code path when it comes time to add a feature or ship a fix.

For the small share of apps that genuinely need platform-specific native (heavy graphics, deep hardware integration, complex animations that push the platform), we write true Swift or Kotlin for that piece and bridge it in. Most Missouri clients never need that. React Native has grown up: Instagram, Discord, Shopify, and Microsoft ship production apps on it.

The app almost always comes with a web-based admin dashboard so your team can update content, review submissions, adjust settings, and add users without emailing a developer. That is where our web app work meets our mobile work: same team, same account, one product.

What we handle for Missouri app clients

End-to-end from concept to live listing:

  • · Discovery and scope. Written spec, screen flows, and a fixed-fee estimate before build starts.
  • · UI design. Native iOS and Android patterns, not a web page in an app shell. Users notice the difference immediately.
  • · Build. React Native with a backend that ships alongside the app. Auth, push notifications, offline sync, deep links, in-app purchases where relevant.
  • · App Store and Google Play submission. We set up your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts (both under your name, not ours), handle the review process, respond to reviewer requests, and get you approved.
  • · Admin dashboard. Web console for content, users, config, analytics. Your team runs the day-to-day.
  • · Post-launch updates. Bug fixes, iOS and Android version updates, new features. Fixed monthly maintenance retainer or per-project.

Missouri mobile app pricing

Mobile apps are more expensive than websites. That is real and worth saying up front. A basic single-purpose app on both stores with a working backend usually starts in the mid five figures. Multi-feature apps with user accounts, payments, and rich content push into six figures. Full product-scale apps go higher.

We price per phase, same as our web app work. Discovery first (fixed fee, written spec you own regardless of whether you keep building with us). Then build phases with milestones you approve. Apple and Google developer program fees ($99 a year Apple, $25 one-time Google) stay in your name. Ongoing maintenance is a fixed monthly retainer sized to the app.

What we will not do is quote a number in an email before we understand what the app does. Anyone who does that is either padding heavily or missing scope they will bill you for later.

FAQ

Common questions

What does a mobile app cost in Missouri?

A single-purpose app on both stores with a working backend typically starts in the mid five figures. Apps with user accounts, payments, and richer features run higher. Full product-scale apps push into six figures. We scope in phases so you never sign a blank check, and we always show a similar past project so the price has context.

How long does it take to build?

Two to three months for a focused first version. Four to six months for a broader feature set. App Store review adds one to two weeks at the end, sometimes longer if Apple flags something. You get a written schedule with milestones before build starts.

Do you handle App Store and Google Play submission?

Yes. We set up the Apple Developer and Google Play accounts under your business (both are your accounts, not ours), prepare the store listings, screenshots, and metadata, submit for review, and handle reviewer questions or rejections. Apple review is stricter than Google. We have gone through enough rejection loops to know how to phrase things and what to fix fast.

What about ongoing updates and maintenance?

A live app needs care. Apple and Google ship OS updates that occasionally break things. Libraries need patching. Bugs surface once real users are in the app. We offer a fixed monthly maintenance retainer that covers routine updates, dependency patching, small feature tweaks, and a set number of hours for anything else. Bigger new features get scoped and priced separately.

Should we build a native app or just a mobile-friendly website?

Honest answer: most of the time a great mobile-first website plus a well-tuned Google Business Profile does the job at a fraction of the cost, especially for local Missouri service businesses. Apps make sense when push notifications, offline work, camera or GPS use, or a login-based experience is central. If you tell us the goal, we will tell you which path fits, even when it points away from a build we would like to sell.
