Missouri

Missouri web design from a studio that's actually in Missouri.

A lot of the firms ranking for "Missouri web design" aren't in Missouri. They're agencies in Austin, Boise, or Mumbai with a Missouri landing page. We're in Lake Ozark, and we've been here since before the Bagnell Dam's LED-lit 75th-anniversary display. If you're a Missouri business looking for a web designer who knows the state, drives its highways, and answers the phone in the same time zone, that's what this page is about.

Who we work with

Most of our clients are concentrated around the Lake of the Ozarks, because that's where word of mouth runs fastest and where we live. But we've built sites for businesses in Jefferson City, Columbia, Springfield, Branson, and a few farther afield. The work doesn't change much by geography; the expectations do. Columbia and Springfield clients tend to want more polish; Lake-area and small-town Missouri clients tend to value plainspoken honesty and accessibility over flash.

Either is fine. We shift the voice and look to fit the market, but we don't pretend to be something we're not — and that seems to be part of why central-Missouri clients end up working with us instead of the big-city agencies.

Why "in Missouri" matters (even for remote work)

The actual design and development can happen anywhere — much of our work with out-of-state clients is over Zoom and email. For Missouri clients specifically, there are a few things being local makes easier:

  • · Same time zone, same business hours. You're not leaving a message at 5 p.m. Central that we'll see at 8 a.m. Pacific.
  • · Understanding local SEO without a crash course. We know the difference between how tourists search and how year-rounders search at the Lake, and we know Springfield and Columbia have different competitive patterns than Kansas City or St. Louis.
  • · Meeting in person when it's worth it. For central-Missouri projects, we'll drive out for the kickoff. It's not required, but some clients prefer it.
  • · Accountability. Working with a studio in another country or a remote agency you've never met carries a specific kind of risk if things go wrong. When we're 90 minutes from your front door, that changes.

The long-game relationships

A lot of our Missouri clients have been with us for five, ten, even fifteen-plus years. The first site on the portfolio below has been a client since 2008. Another has been running our e-commerce stack since 2013. That's not unusual for this kind of work — when you build a site that actually works, the client sticks around, and "web developer" becomes a relationship rather than a vendor transaction.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you only work with Missouri clients?

No — we work with businesses nationwide. But a large share of our clients are in Missouri, and being in-state makes the process a little smoother for them.

Do you travel to meet clients?

For Lake-area clients, yes, at kickoff and occasionally after. For clients elsewhere in Missouri, it depends on the project scope — sometimes a site visit is worth it, sometimes Zoom is plenty.

Do you know the local SEO landscape for my city?

For most Missouri markets, yes, well enough to do the research and build an SEO plan that reflects actual local competition. We've done SEO work in the Lake area, Columbia, Springfield, and Kansas City.

Can you meet at my office?

For Lake-area clients, that's often how kickoffs go. For the rest of the state, it depends on whether a physical meeting adds enough to justify a half-day drive each way. We'll tell you honestly if it's worth it.
