Managed Hosting & Care
Fast servers, nightly backups, active security patching, and a real person who answers the phone. We host and maintain WordPress sites for Missouri businesses at the Lake of the Ozarks, in Jefferson City, Columbia, Springfield, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Since 2006. Sites we host, sites we did not build, all the same care. Call (573) 746-2417.
Hosting is more than "putting your site on a server". Managed WordPress hosting is the whole stack of things that keep a live business site up, fast, and secure without you having to think about any of it. Here is what our Missouri clients get:
Most Missouri owners we take on have been on one of three setups: cheap shared hosting from a national brand (GoDaddy, Bluehost, HostGator, DreamHost), a friend-of-a-friend hosting arrangement, or a "we set it up ourselves once" account nobody has logged into in three years. All three have the same failure mode: everything looks fine until it does not, and when it fails, there is nobody to call.
Cheap shared hosting is oversold by design. You share a server with hundreds of other sites. When one of them gets hit with traffic or a security exploit, everyone's site slows down or goes offline. Support is a chat window in Manila with a script. Backups are advertised but often not restorable when you actually need them.
The self-managed route works right up until WordPress ships a critical security patch on a Tuesday night, a plugin update breaks the site on a Friday afternoon, or someone brute-forces the login page over a weekend. At that point the "we handle it ourselves" arrangement costs a lot more than a monthly hosting fee, and it costs your time, which is the resource you have least of.
Managed hosting removes the class of problems that eat Missouri owners' weekends. Fixed monthly cost, predictable, one call for anything.
Under the hood, in plain English, so you know what you are paying for:
Two tiers. Managed hosting for the technical side (server, backups, security, uptime, updates) starts low and covers most brochure sites. Comprehensive care adds hands-off site maintenance: unlimited content edits, WordPress and plugin updates handled, and you never touch the admin unless you want to. Most owners land on care because their time is more valuable than the difference.
WooCommerce, membership sites, and sites with unusual traffic get quoted individually. Storage-heavy sites (large media libraries, lots of uploads) may need a larger allocation. Straight, written quote before you migrate, based on what your site actually is rather than a marketing tier chart.
FAQ
Two tiers: managed hosting and comprehensive care. Managed hosting starts low and covers the technical side. Comprehensive care adds hands-off updates and unlimited content edits and lands in the range most owners want because it removes WordPress from their to-do list entirely. WooCommerce and membership sites get quoted individually. Written quote before you commit.
Yes, and migration is included at no charge for sites moving to our care plan. We spin up a copy on our stack, test everything, then cut over DNS during a scheduled window. No downtime, email keeps flowing (we do not touch your MX records unless you ask), and if something goes wrong we roll back cleanly. Most migrations complete in a few business days start to finish.
Yes. Your domain stays at whichever registrar you already use (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, wherever). We just point the DNS at our servers. The WordPress install, database, uploads, and every piece of content belong to you. If you ever leave, we hand over a full site backup and help point DNS to the new host. No lock-in.
99.9%-plus in practice. Cloudflare's edge in front means even during a server-level incident, cached pages keep serving to visitors. Scheduled maintenance runs late night Central time on the weekend and is announced in advance. If unplanned downtime affects your site meaningfully, we credit the affected month.
Every managed site has a web application firewall, brute-force protection, and daily backups. If a compromise happens anyway (usually via a leaked admin password rather than a server exploit) we restore from the most recent clean backup, rotate credentials, run a malware scan, and identify the entry point. Included in the monthly fee. Sites we host that we did not originally build get the same treatment.
Yes. About half the sites on our Missouri hosting stack were built by someone else. We do an intake audit (theme, plugins, database health, security state, backup history) and give you a written report of anything worth fixing before migration. Some sites are healthy and just need a new home. Others need cleanup, which we can quote separately. Either way, once you are on our infrastructure, the ongoing care is the same.
