Custom Web Applications
A web app is what you build when a website is not enough and off-the-shelf software will not bend. We build client portals, booking systems, scored assessments, member sites, quoting tools, and internal dashboards for Missouri businesses at the Lake of the Ozarks, in Jefferson City, Columbia, Springfield, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Since 2006. Phased scope, milestone billing, and you own the code. Call (573) 746-2417.
A website tells people what you do. A web app lets them do something with you. When a customer needs to schedule, upload a file, log in and see their own data, pay a balance, run a quote, or work through a multi-step form with a real result at the end, that is web app territory. WordPress pages and contact forms stop being enough.
The other trigger is off-the-shelf software that is close but not right. Missouri owners come to us after paying a monthly SaaS fee for two years and still exporting to a spreadsheet every Friday to make the numbers work. That is the moment to consider a custom internal tool that fits the actual workflow instead of forcing the workflow to fit the tool.
Custom is not always the answer. If a $49-a-month product handles ninety percent of the job cleanly, use it. We will tell you when that is the case. We build custom when the math works: when the manual hours saved, the leads captured, or the client experience gained justifies the build.
Common shapes of Missouri web app work we take on:
Web apps do not price like websites. A brochure site has a scope you can size on a call. An app has assumptions, integrations, and edge cases that only surface once you dig in. We handle that with phased delivery and milestone billing.
Phase one is discovery: a working prototype or a written spec, whichever the project needs. Fixed fee, one to three weeks depending on complexity. You get something you can hand to another developer if you decide not to build with us. No lock-in.
Phase two through however-many is the build, priced per milestone. Each milestone ships something you can use. You approve, you pay for that milestone, we move to the next. If we discover the fourth milestone should be different than we thought at the start, we scope and re-price that milestone before we build it, not after we send the invoice.
You own the code. Source in your repository, infrastructure in your cloud account (Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, AWS, whatever fits). If you decide to move to another developer in year three, you take the whole thing with you. No proprietary framework, no vendor lock.

FAQ
Small internal tools and scored assessments usually run five figures. Client portals with authentication, payments, and admin dashboards land in the mid five figures. Full SaaS products with subscription billing and multi-tenant data can move into six figures for phase one. We scope phase by phase, so you never sign a six-figure blank check on day one.
Discovery is one to three weeks. A small tool or portal often ships a usable phase one in four to eight weeks after discovery. Larger builds run three to six months across phases, with something usable in your hands every four to six weeks. You always know what is coming next.
Your choice. Most Missouri clients let us host on our managed stack with nightly backups, monitoring, and security patching for a fixed monthly fee. If your business needs the app in your own AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure account, we set that up and hand over the keys. We do not require you to host with us.
Yes. Source in your GitHub or GitLab organization, deployment in your cloud account, database in your name. If you switch developers in three years, everything transfers cleanly. We build with standard frameworks (Laravel, Node, Python) on standard infrastructure so a competent developer anywhere can pick it up.
Yes. QuickBooks, Xero, HubSpot, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, ShipStation, Stripe, Square, DocuSign, HelloSign, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and dozens more. If it has an API, we can wire it in. If it does not, we can often scrape or import manually. Tell us what the app needs to touch and we will scope the integration in phase one.
